I had the absolute pleasure to interview one my favorite Youtuber’s today, none other then the amazing Jesse Cox. I wish to take this moment to thank Jesse for taking time out of his schedule to do this, you made my day.

For those who don’t know, you record and comment alot of videos on Youtube about World of Warcraft, for how long have you been doing that now?
- Since about July. I am a relative new comer to the “record your lame voice over video of something you didn’t make but take full credit for making better” crowd. I hope I’m doing those who came before me proud!

How come you started doing that?
- Honestly, at the time I didn’t see anyone else doing it. At least not the way I wanted to. Anyone and their brother with a beta key and fraps can make a video of a new zone fly by. BOOOORING. I figured, I have fraps, I have a microphone, I record my voice for a living – why the hell not! So 200 some videos later, here we are.

I’ve heard that you work as a voice actor on the side, have we heard you in anything?
-Well as WoW fans, I would say you have heard me in a TON of your favorite machinimas (if in fact you like machinima and have a favorite). I’ve been in Tales of the Past III, Illegal Danish, Divided Soul, Wish Upon a Gnome, Oxhorn’s Thunk Leaves Home – more recently the award winning “Welcome to the Deadmines” as well as the amazing film “boom deyada WoW edition”. BUT, in the REAL world, I work for radio and industry doing commercials. Every now and again I get a game role, but those are few and far between….but feel free to help me out readers! The last game I did was Puzzle Quest 2 earlier this year.

Do you practice your voices in front of a mirror? Or does it come naturally?
-I don’t do the mirror thing, but I do practice. I test out voices on my friends and if they think it’s funny I usually stick with it. Those voices that are more serious I find myself in the shower just talking to myself (great acoustics in there!). It’s weird I know, but you sing (or do other things in there) – I do voices.

For how long have you played World of Warcraft?
-Since day 1…. It’s my one vice. I have bought a total of 5 other games in the last 5-6 years cause of this thing.

Do you, or have you played any other game that you really liked?
-I am to this day a massive fan of Final Fantasy. My dream is to one day do a voice for one of the games. Waaaaaay back in the day I used to do voices in my room for FFVI on SNES. I love that game with a passion, truly one of my favorites. Though lately FF games have suffered the same way most games have – great graphics, great music – AWFUL story. And I’m one of those story nerds, it has to be there for me to buy in to the game.
I also like the Ace Combat series. Why? STORY. If you have not taken the time to play Ace Combat 5 in your lifetime, do so. It is amazing.

What is your favorite class in WoW and why?
-Shaman – It’s the only class I know anything about… not gonna lie. It’s the one class I’ve played since day one, and while I’ve gone to test and level others… I still only play my shaman. Guess I’m just a lazy gamer.

Do you favor Horde or Alliance?
-LOK’TAR OGAR and what not. Horde all the way! Now don’t get me wrong, I love the alliance – but if you put a line on the ground and said “pick a side” I know where I’d be standing. But expect me to play a worgen to 85 for sure.

Do you wish to share some of your in game character names?
-Since most of the people who watch my videos know my main is Mojomaker. Also my soon to be Worgen character WorgnFleamen

What do you like the most about WoW?
- New experiences and challenges. I enjoy playing with friends and no drama… which is why my guild activeness is like .0001% since June. I spent 5 years in some of the best guilds on my server getting server firsts – but damned if they are some of the most drama filled ones too. No thanks, bring on the 10 mans.

Are you looking forward to Cataclysm hitting live servers?
-Yes, but I’m also excited it got pushed back. I know you’re saying’ “what what whaaaaat?!” but it gives me time to finish my video series for all of your viewers.

Are there something you feel that Blizzard should change/remove or re-instate in Cataclysm?
- Anyone from “back in the day” of the first year or so of WoW remember Alterac Valley as it was. I DEMAND they return it to its former glory. I miss the 4 hour battles and NPCs and quest objectives and goblin shredders and… everything! Now it’s less “battle” and more ‘race to the other guys incredibly easy to kill NPC leader”. Usually I’m 100% behind almost all of blizz’s decisions, but they really screwed the pooch on this one.

How much time do you spend recording/edit/upload your videos?
TOO MUCH TIME

Edited gameplay footage: 2 hours
sync sound to video: 2 hours
process video: 30minutes
upload to youtube: 60-70 minutes
processing on youtube: 20 minutes

So ya…it takes a long time.

Are you able to make a living on this?
I’m told I can, and somewhere along the way people promised me money if they could throw up ads on my stuff. I was like “sure why not”…but we’ll see if it’s “livable income”. Until then, it’s auditions, auditions, and more auditions for me.

What are the best thing that happened to you in wow?
Met some incredibly smart, talented, and interesting people through the game. You can’t ask for more than that.

And the worst?
Easy – getting hacked 1 week before the release of Wrath of the Lich King. I was super pissed.

The legendary Barrens chat may be back in Cataclysm, your thoughts on that?
It had left?

What is you favorite movie? …of all time? Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure!!!!!! Nothing says “classy movie” like a Sigmund Freud/Socrates corn dog penis joke and Abraham Lincoln saying “party on dudes”.

Favorite TV-series? Lost – without a doubt.

Spare time activities? Spare time?! :(

Are there anything you would like to add to this interview?
Thanks to all the fans and supporters. You are seriously the only reason why I do this. I’m no Total biscuit with 10000000k subs who gets a million dollars a month to make videos. I do it because it makes me happy to show you guys something new. I would thank the haters too but they make me cry. Oh and sorry if I had any typos, I’m a horrible typer…guy… person.
