World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

0

So, many of you know that Blizzcon is full under way and alot of WoW/Diablo/Starcraft information is pumped out. Tho one of the big news is the next World of Warcraft expansion: Mists of Pandaria. Check out the video below to see the new playable race, Pandaren, in action. Tell me in the comments what you think.
Fun Fact: Pandaren was introduced as a April’s fools joke a few years ago, although Blizzard said today that they had planned to add the Pandaren race in Burning Crusade, but didn’t. Along with a new race, there will also be a new class, Monk.

Anyway, there are ALOT of features being added, so head on over to MMO-Champion to follow the live updating from Blizzcon.

I’m probably not gonna write more about Blizzcon and all the news there, but I do urge you, if you are interested, to visit MMO-Champion. They update their page with new stuff happening at Blizzcon all the time.

Cataclysm hotfixes: January 6th

0

Blizzard posted todays/yesterdays Cataclysm hotfixes:

January 6

Classes

  • Death Knights
Ghouls do not gain Shadow Infusion when Death Coil is cast during the preparation phase of an Arena or rated Battleground match, making it impossible to use Dark Transformation before the game starts. Shadow Infusion and Dark Transformation both work normally after the preparation phase.
  • Hunters
Hunters can no longer sometimes activate multiple aspects at once through the use of Camouflage. Very sneaky.
  • Paladins
Paladins using Divine Shield are now able to cast on targets within the same Smoke Bomb effect area, as well as heal others.
  • Priest
Casting Flash Heal while under the effects of both Surge of Light and Inner Focus will now only consume Surge of Light.
  • Warriors
Warriors can no longer teleport when using Charge with the Tahret Dynasty Mallet.

Dungeons & Raids

  • The Bastion of Twilight
It is no longer possible to outrange the Halfus Wyrmbreaker drakes without being attacked by melee. The drakes now reposition themselves correctly in order to regain the capability to melee the target.
Twilight Phase-Twister’s Twist Phase ability now has an initial cast delay of 7 seconds, up from 5, and a cast time of roughly 8 seconds, up from 6.
  • Blackrock Caverns
The Evolution aura during the Corla encounter now displays its warning visual on players at 74 stacks, instead of 82.
    • Deadmines
Shapeshifted characters should no longer be unable to jump on the rope during the Vanessa VanCleef encounter. They will now be pulled out of a shapeshift form automatically. In addition, players should no longer lose pets when jumping on the rope (they will respawn when the player lands after swinging). Please note that until a client-side patch can be applied, an inappropriate aura will be displayed when pet classes or shapeshifted characters use the rope. The tooltip of this aura will read “Delicious Aura (UNUSED REUSE) / Instant / Delicious food increases haste by 10%” and can be disregarded, as it does not provide a haste buff. It’s an aura of free word association… Enjoy
    • Lost City of the Tol’vir
Tamed Tol’vir Prowlers now have regular loot and Skinning tables, instead of epic-quality loot.
    • Throne of the Four Winds
Al’akir’s Static Shock now does 5,000 damage and only interrupts the spell the player is casting at that moment. It doesn’t lock out the caster and only casts every 5 seconds or so.

    Items

Darkmoon Card: Tsunami now properly procs Giant Wave when basic heal-over-time spells are cast.

    Professions

    • Jewelcrafting
Shaman were unable to obtain Design: Figurine – Demon Panther from Neferset Looters. This has been corrected.

    PvP

    • Strand of the Ancients
Demolishers now spawn at about the same moment that the boats reach the docks in the second round.
    • Tol Barad
If a player is already in Tol Barad and does not join the battle, the player will be ported back to the camp.
Using /afk ejects players out of the raid and back to the camp.
Entering Tol Barad via the bridge during an active battle by joining the queue will port the player to the correct starting place of the battle, but players who do not join the queue will be ported back to the camp.
Both the Hellscream’s Reach Battle Standard and the Baradin’s Wardens Battle Standard now have a 10-minute cooldown.

    Quests & Creatures

    • Tol Barad
The spawn rates of all three Tol Barad quest micro dungeons have been adjusted to a more reasonable level. This should alleviate the issues players were having with creatures respawning too quickly.
The escorted Farson Keep Prisoner for the quest “Walk A Mile In Their Shoes” no longer engages in combat with opposing faction players.
    • Twilight Highlands
If reinforcements are not called after 60 seconds, Skullcrusher the Mountain will now despawn. When reinforcements are called, Skullcrusher no longer improperly despawns.
    • Uldum
The Ramkahen Guardians now correctly melee, throw nets to snare characters, and utilize knock-back shots with their bows when they are unable to path to the target.

    Contest ended: Lil Ragnaros

    0

Ok, so the contest to win a free World of Warcraft pet: Lil Ragnaros is now over. I got about 150 suggestions and some of them were really good, while other were… Lets say, weird! :) I took me all night as well.
Anyway, i had a hard time deciding who should win, but the price went to the signature: “Jennyh”.

There were some suggestions that were similar to hers but i found that this one hit the spot, atleast for me. This is what she wrote:

    “Hello.
I would like a serpent mount, kind of like a dragon but not. It should look kind of like the warp-stalkers but have retractable wings. It should be a land, water and flying mount combined, maybe 250% speed underwater.
Anyway, thats my suggestion, have the best time :)
    xoxo
    Jennyh”

Jennyh has been contacted and got her pet, i hope i can get a screenshot from her with the pet in-game later on.
For all of you who did not win, I’m planning another contest soon, a little bit different and will include 2 prices, 1 for the winner and one for the runner up. And thank you so very much for participating, the big number of suggestions make me want to throw more contests in a few days! You all are very awesome! :)

You should know that I’m paying for these prices from my own pocket, so if you feel the need to donate… Use the button in the sidebar to the right!

    Cataclysm status update

    1

Thought I’d post the status of my characters so far.
Cataclysm leveling is so much fun that i want to bring all my high level chars to level 85, and I like to think I”m making good progress.
Here are my characters, there are some lower level alts aswell, but didn’t feel the need to post them, also, the Mage is like 10% away from level 81.

On a side-note: I have received alot of good emails about the Minecraft Gift Card giveaway contest, so be sure to get your submission in to!

I also got some professions to max level to, and Jewelcrafting and Enchanting on the way. They are so damn slow to level.

And i finally got my first Rare with Archeology today, the Fossilized Hatchling.
    Ain’t it cute?!

World of Warcraft Pet: Lil Ragnaros
Get your guildmates fired up with Lil’ Ragnaros, the mini-elemental lord.  Not only can he serve as a cooking fire, but he’ll also sporadically ignite nearby critters that wander too close to his burning form.  As a being of pure elemental fire, he will even submerge into the world’s molten core when you start moving and then reemerge next to you wherever you stop.

    Cataclysm Dungeon Entrances

    0

I have seen that many out there want to know how and where to find the entrance’s to the new Cataclysm dungeons, so i thought i’d make a small guide to find all the new instance portals.

You find the entrance to Throne of Tides in Vashj’ir, Abyssal Depths and finally Abyssal Breach. Doing most of the quests in Vashj’ir will eventually lead you to a event/cut-scene quest at the Abyssal Breach. Tho you can just swim there to discover the entrance if you have no plans on questing there.

The Grim Batol entrance can be found in the western part of Twilight Highlands, by the entrance to the zone it self.

Halls of Origination lies beneath a huge pyramid in Uldum and are pretty close to the main questing hub.

So are The Lost City of the Tol’Vir, just a stone throw from Halls of Origination.

The Vortex Pinnacle lies up in the sky in Uldum and can be spotted from far away, just fly towards the towers in the sky and aim for the biggest tower. However, be sure to fly to the right towerclouds, the eastern ones. The western leads to the raid instance of Throne of the Four Winds.

The Stonecore is located in Deepholm, in the Temple of Earth, the main quest hub. Just go outside and fly up and west to find it, check the picture to see more specifically.

Blackrock Caverns are located in Blackrock mountain. It can be a bit tricky to find the right entrance, but if you follow the pictures you should find it.

Here is the entrance to Throne of Tides, Grim Batol,  Halls of Origination, The Lost City of the Tol’Vir, The Vortex Pinnacle, The Stonecore and Blackrock Caverns.

    [nggallery id=25]

Also, here’s a video showing the entrance of Blackrock Caverns, the screenshots could be somewhat hard to figure out!
