Minecraft rollercoaster update
0I’ve been building some on the rollercoaster, and it’s getting pretty big now.
It works riding it with the old school boosters, but it does not work good on the second lap. However, when CraftBook finally gets ported to Bukkit i will be adding a station with a start and stop function, and gold block boosters.
Here’s some screen shots of it as of now.

Sandstone stairs
3I was thinking about suggestions and things I would like to see in Minecraft.
And one thing that came to mind was Sandstone stairs, built the same way as regular stairs.
It would greatly improve those sandy towns and things out there.
I made a quick picture of it, what you you think? Would you like Sandstone stairs aswell?

Minecraft Planetoids map
14Don’t forget to check out the frontpage for Minecraft, Terraria, Bastion, Rock of Ages and other game giveaway contests.
So, after i saw Yogscast playing a Planetoids map i just had to try i out myself. Really fun and pretty challenging at the start.
Planetoids is a map with “planets” and you start on a wooden one. From there you have to make wooden picks, axes etc. And collect enough wood to be able to build your way to the next planet, preferably a stone planet. After reaching a stone planet you can build a stone pick.
Every stone planet is filled with some kind of stuffing… For example coal, iron, diamond ore etc. But they can also be stuffed with lava and gravel, which can make your trip useless.
I spawned next to a huge stone planet when i started, and after getting my wooden picks i went there, “to bad” for me that is was filled with diamond ore, i couldn’t even mine it :P Anyway, i kept on building bridges to other stone planets in search for iron, but i only found coal, gravel, gold and lava. After a few hours i hit a iron planet and finally got my iron pick. On to the diamond planet next to my spawn, i kind of went over the top and mined 4 stacks of diamond, altho i don’t need that much.
I do feel however, that after i got my diamond tools and armor i kind of lost interest, it kind of felt like i won and there wasn’t anything left to do. But i did start making dirt platforms and small farms here and there, and collecting drops from mobs and making a cake. I also made some dye’s to make colored cloth.
I do not know what to do next tho, maybe build a real base instead of the crappy platform i got at the moment. All in all it was a really fun map and something to do while waiting for minecraft.net to get going again.
Oh, almost forgot, I found a “secret” exit from the Planetoid area down by the water at a corner. It was a small hole in the bedrock. After going through i found myself in a ordinary Minecraft world, so i guess my next project could be connecting the two areas together. Pictures are in the gallery below.
If you want to try the Planetoids map, download this program or (here) and follow the instructions, it’s real easy!

This is how my inventory looks at the moment, everything legit of course, since diamond are abundant after you get your iron pick.

Nice set of rare mobs for Minecraft
4This picture was made by “red13″ and shows some: made by him : rare mobs suggested for Minecraft. I for one like the idea of rare mobs and welcome these that he came up with. I found this picture over at Minecraft-Skins!
Remember, this has no affiliation with Notch and the Mojang crew, so don’t go thinking these will be implemented, unless they like red13′s idea of course.

0So, i finally updated my client, by mistake tho, forgot about it and restarted Minecraft :P
Anyway, i tried some singleplayer to see some of the new features, blocks, mobs etc.
Here’s some screenshots of: Black & Gray Sheep, Cake, Colored dye blocks, Octopus mob, Sandstone Block and the new Birch tree!
Sorry about the weird colors on the octopus, was kind of dark down there in the water!

On a side-note, I’m experiencing alot of lagspikes in the beta, tried setting the graphics to low etc, but nothing have solved it. Anyone else having these spikes? And are there any fix for it?
